Windows 11: New operating system with many interesting features
The time has come: After almost six years, Microsoft has again announced a new operating system for PCs: Windows 11. This should bring some important innovations compared to the previous version. For both private users and many companies, the question now arises whether they should switch to the latest version. Microsoft has not yet released the software. However, the manufacturer has already announced some preliminary information. On this basis, we present the new operating system so that you can decide for yourself whether the use is worth it for you.
Successor for Windows 10
The vast majority of PCs are currently using the Windows 10 operating system. This is the current version of the software. This has been available since 2015. The previous versions are hardly used - especially since Microsoft set the security updates for Windows 7. Version 10 of the Windows operating system is very popular. While the users have a lot of criticism of the previously published versions, satisfaction was generally quite high. This was certainly a possible explanation that Microsoft waited for the next version for so long. However, there is another reason. The software company had developed a new strategy in this area. While new versions of the operating system previously occurred every three years, Windows 10 should actually be the last execution. Microsoft did not intend to develop a successor. Instead, the company wanted to bring the software up to date with semi -annual updates and to expand further functions. This should give all users permanently access to the latest operating system. However, the provider has now deviated from this strategy. The technical progress and the changes in the requirements of the users were too great. That is why the software company surprised in June 2021 with the announcement of the new version.
The system requirements
If you deal with the question of whether you want to carry out the upgrade to the latest Windows version, it makes sense to take a look at the system requirements. The requirements have increased significantly compared to the previous Windows version. An important innovation is that no computers will be supported with 32 bits in the future. You can only carry out the upgrade if you use a 64-bit calculator. In addition, the latest version no longer supports some older processors. Also note that your RAM must be at least one size of 4 GB. In addition, it is imperative that the computer supports the UEFI firmware. You see that the requirements have risen significantly. Therefore, the changeover will not be possible with older computers.
Low waiting times for boats and updates
An important goal in the development of Windows 11 was to reduce the sometimes quite long waiting times for booting. Especially if it is necessary to record updates, you have to wait a long time so far. This can severely restrict productivity if you use your PC business. With the new version, however, the waiting times should be significantly smaller.
Updated design
Microsoft designs its own design for every new Windows version. This is also the case with version 11. The new design looks very modern, but still reserved. When controlling the operating system functions, the software is based on the popular predecessor version: You can access all important areas via the start menu. A small difference is only how you achieve this. The corresponding button remains in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Here, however, it is now arranged in the middle. However, this small change should not be too difficult. Another innovation represents the introduction of "snap layouts" and "snap groups". This makes it possible to open several windows at the same time and to work efficiently with them.
Better support for tablets
Windows is already supporting the entry by mouse and keyboard or via touchscreen. This principle will continue to be retained. However, Microsoft has further improved support for tablets. For example, the tablet mode, which ensures a touchscreen-friendly representation of all buttons, should now be activated automatically if the device does not recognize a keyboard.
Reintroduction of the widgets
Windows 7 used so -called widgets. These are small buttons that you can use to obtain current information. In the following versions, however, they were banished from the standard settings. They are still available, but they have to activate them in a targeted manner. For the latest version, Microsoft revised the widgets and added to the default settings again. Artificial intelligence should lead to the fact that you are displayed exactly the content that interests you. The providers for the information are selected by Microsoft to ensure trust and reliability.
Integration of Microsoft Teams
Corona pandemic has increased the number of video conferences. Microsoft offers suitable software for this: Microsoft teams. Due to the great importance, the developers have decided to integrate teams directly into the operating system. If you work with this software in your company or if you use you to maintain private contacts, this makes it easier to use.
Support for Andoid apps
The smartphone uses a completely different operating system than your Windows PC. Therefore, it is not yet possible to carry out smartphone apps in this environment. However, since these devices are becoming increasingly important, Microsoft has now decided to improve support for these applications. From now on, many Android apps are available via the Microsoft Store. The developers have designed a special environment for this, which enables the execution.
Improved gaming offers
If you are happy to play on the computer, the latest Windows version also brings many advantages for you. This supports the latest technology and thus improves the graphics and reduces loading times. The support for numerous peripheral devices has also been improved. As a Windows user, you will also receive the Xbox Game Pass, which offers you access to a large number of games.
More security for your PC
In recent years, the threats to your PC have risen significantly. Ransomware in particular has developed into a severe problem. That is why Microsoft has revised his security concept. Zero Trust plays an important role in this. This ensures that all information you receive from another device is intensively checked - even if it is actually trusting. This increases security in particular for hybrid employment relationships in which the employees use both their own computer and business PCs. In addition, some security measures that are already available, but which many users do not use, receive significantly greater importance. Examples of this are Windows Hello, the encryption of the entire device and hypervisor-protected code Integrity (HVCI). In addition, Microsoft now pays more attention to safe hardware. This not only has to support all assembly precautions mentioned. In addition, Microsoft no longer supports many processors with known security gaps.
